YSRCP MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy To Join BJP?:- After the recently held Nandyal by-election, now rumors which are doing the rounds is that YSRCP Congress MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy is all set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and he had already met BJP President Amit Shah.
However, Mekapati clarifying the rumors said, “There is not even 0.0001 percent truth in these reports. I do not know from where these things come from. MPs of all parties were invited for dinner after M Venkaiah Naidu’s election as Vice President. It was then Venkaiah introduced Me to Amit Shah, other than that we did not discuss about any political issues”.
Reddy gave a self-declaration stating that he would remain with the YSR Congress party and support the leadership of Jagan. It was reported that Mekapati was contemplating joining the BJP, as he was not happy with the leadership of Jagan and that after the party’s defeat in Nandyal by-elections, the MP lost hopes on the party.
It has even been speculated that Mekapati wishes to join BJP, as his family have various businesses in North India. But, he made it clear that he will not use politics, for making money.
The senior politician responding on the buzz that in the 2014 polls, BJP offered MP ticket to him and MLA ticket for his son and Atmakur MLA Goutham Reddy, Mekapati said he is not an opportunist politician and that he quit Congress and joined YSRCP, much ahead of the 2014 polls.
“There is not an iota of truth in these reports, which are silly and baseless. I neither got an offer from the BJP nor did I approach them. Why should I? I am happy in the YSRC,” he said.
Reacting to the Nandyal by-poll result, Mekapati said everybody was aware how Chandrababu Naidu with sheer manipulation and pumping of huge amount of money had managed to win the seat. “How can it be linked to me? I joined the YSRC as I believed that Jagan is the only person who can fulfill the aspiration of his father late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy,” he said.
Another YSRC MLA G Srikanth Reddy also had to give similar disclaimer, on Wednesday, stating that he was not defecting to any other party and MLA R K Roja, too, said she would remain with Jagan till her last breath.
