TRS Votes Against Citizenship Amendment Bill:- The Citizenship Amendment Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha House in Parliament yesterday though some of the opposition parties opposed the bill. With BJP and its allies having a complete majority, the bill passed without any troubles. The surprise came after the Telangana government and TRS opposed the bill. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) opposed the bill and he issued an ultimatum for the MPs to vote against Citizenship Amendment Bill.

TRS has been opposing the bill from the past few years as they felt that it would do no benefit to the minorities. Though TRS supported BJP for demonetisation and GST bills, they are completely against Citizenship Amendment Bill. TRS is also against the Triple Talaq bill introduced in the Parliament. KCR has been keen on gaining the support of minorities in the state and hence he denied supporting the bill. KCR even has been bonding with AIMIM from the past few years.
