NITI Aayog proposes the Price for Coronavirus Vaccine in India:- The coronavirus had a massive impact on the country which is slowly recovering. The wave of cases came down but there is a considerable rise in the numbers from the past ten days. The NITI Aayog proposed a price of Rs 300-500 for the two shots of coronavirus vaccine that will be available through the private facilities in the country during the third phase of vaccination that will commence from March 1st. There are talks that the Bharat Biotech's Covaxin would cost a bit higher. The Union Health Ministry is expected to take a final call on the proposed prices very soon. A long meeting for five hours took place between NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul and other officials of Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech. The meeting took place last evening and it got concluded at 11 PM.

The private facilities would be implementing service charges from the beneficiaries after the final price is locked told the officials. There are reports that the private hospitals will be charging a service charge of Rs 100 per dose of the vaccination. The service charge would be additional and will not be included in the vaccination price. The government of India is procuring SII's Covishield for Rs 210 per dose and for Covaxin, the price would be Rs 290 per dose. The third phase of vaccination will start from March 1st and will cover 27 crore people. All those above the age of 60 and those with health complications above the age of 45 will be covered in this phase.

Ten thousand government along with twenty thousand private vaccination centres are finalized for the third phase of mass vaccination. All those who are taking the vaccination at the government centres would take it free while the private vaccination centres would be charging a fee that will be finalized by the Centre.
