GST Rates Revised:- Goods and Service Tax popularly known as GST has been shaking the nation before it has been implemented. GST is said to be implemented from July 1st and there have been several debates on it from the past few months. Just few weeks ahead of implementation, the Central government stepped out with some amendments after they have been facing the heat from all over the country. The changes have been made for 66 items and Union Minister Arun Jaitley announced it calling it the biggest tax reform that will change the country.
The 16th meeting of GST has been held after which the changes have been announced. Packed food items like toppings, pickles, food mixes, ketchup are said to go cheaper after GST on these has been reduced from 18% to 12%. Insulin is all set to turn cheaper as it has been brought down to 5% from 12%. School bags will turn cheaper after GST has been slashed from 28% to 18%. On all the movie tickets priced above Rs 100, GST will be 28% and for those below Rs 100, it will be 18%. Small scale manufacturers with annual turnover of less than 20 lakhs need not pay any tax.
