Ireland looking for second victory

IrelandDesperately looking for a second win after its victory over England in the World Cup league matches, Ireland won the toss and elected to field first against Netherlands in its final Group B encounter at Eden Gardens in Calcutta today.

The Netherlands made only one change in its team that played against Bangladesh replacing flamboyant batsman Tom de Grooth with medium pacer Bernard Loots. Ireland retained the team that played against South Africa.

Both Ireland and Netherlands played five matches each and Ireland have two points to its credit while the Netherlands are yet to open their account.

Teams:

Ireland: William Porterfield (c), Paul Stirling, Ed Joyce, Niall O'Brien (wk), Gary Wilson, Kevin O'Brien, Alex Cusack, John Mooney, George Dockrell, Trent Johnston and Boyd Rankin.

The Netherlands: Peter Borren (c), Eric Swarczynski, Wesley Barresi (wk), Mudassar Bukhari, Tom Cooper, Ryan ten Doeschate, Alexei Kervezee, Bernard Loots, Atse Buurman, Pieter Seelaar, Adeel Raja.
