Yesterday, India Vs New Zealand was dominated by Team India in both the venues. The colts are to be first appreciated, for their master display, in the under 19 cricket world cup at the Tony Ireland Stadium, Townsville Australia. Team India colts dominate their Kiwi counterparts in their semis and secure a berth in the finals. India wound up at 209/9 in the first leg and got the Kiwis out at 200/9 in the stipulated overs.
With this win Team India fix up their appointment with the Australians in the Sunday final. At the batting Prashant Chopra (52) and Baba Aparajith (44) made significant contributions. On the bowling front three bowlers have to be commended for restricting the Kiwis, Sandeep Sharma, Ravikanth Singh and Harmeet Singh picked up two wicket. However a massive Indian score that was foretold by the experts, when India was batting in its early overs, was pinned down to a mere 209 /9. This was achieved by the meticulous efforts of the Kiwi Bowlers, in particular Horne who claimed 28/3 was striking.
The double whammy came with Indian seniors too dominating the Kiwis in the India Vs New Zealand encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket stadium in Hyderabad. Sachin Tendulkar is the only player left of the 'Fabulous Five' elite group, after Sourav Ganguly, followed by Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, and most recently, VVS Laxman bid adieu to international cricket. Unfortunately at the match the master blaster was awestruck when his middle stump lung across as the Kiwi bowler Trent Boult struck in fiery. However Pujara compensated the loss with his spectacle 119 in 226 encounters. He managed a six and fourteen fours in his magnificent innings. Virat Kohli too gathered momentum while in his company and scored 58 runs. Dhoni and Pujara were at crease at the close of the day on the first day on the first test match, after the home team scoring 307/5.
And today the team India take on the Kiwis with Dhoni and Pujary back in action, the first over from Boult was a maiden over. India are a 333/5 at the end of the 99th over.
