In what can be considered an emphatic win, India has once again proved to be the finest on field. With the game reduced to 4 days with inclement weather on the first day at Mohali. They managed to put pressure right on Aussies in the first innings itself.
They took the bat and scored well setting a decent target strategically as to not make the match a draw. Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay played extremely well putting the team well ahead of Australia. The lead was just sufficient for the Aussies to chase but not set a target that is impossible to chase. As planned, the Indian side bowling kicked in on the second innings, bringing the final target to a meager score just over 130.
The Indian batting side, albeit losing a few wickets in the end, unnecessarily, comfortably managed to steer the game towards victory. Dhoni finished the game in style with his three consecutive boundaries at the end of the game with 6 wickets in hand.
