The strike going on in the Tamil tinsel world between the film employees and the producers seem to be going on at great speed. Most of the films are taking a break.
The illayathalapathi Vijay’s latest flick, Thuppaki, which needs just some scenes to be shot, is also reeling under the strike called by Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) againts the Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC). But the Murugadoss directed film completed its part of post production works like rendering songs. Most of the songs are set to be completed, including the some songs which are posed to be mass entertainers.
Singer Krish, a family friend and an ardent fan of Vijay is supposed to have sung some good songs for the film. The Ajith Billa title song singer is also roped in by the crew to do the title honors for Thuppaki too.
Thuppaki is directed by AR Murugadoss with cinematography by Santhosh Sivan and music by Harris Jayaraj. Kajal Agarwal is paired opposite Vijay in Thuppaki.
The light boys in the Chennai film industry have gone on an indefinite strike, demanding a shorter working day. A spokesman of the union representing light boys said unless the normal eight-hour call-sheet was reduced to six, they would continue with the strike. Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) and the Tamil Film Producers' Council (TFPC) however say all the demands of the technicians had been met and they got a 40 percent pay hike in January, but were very much reluctant to yield to the latest demand.
