Former Kadapa MP Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy today announced that he has decided to undertake a one-week fast in Hyderabad from February 18 demanding immediate release of funds for fee reimbursement to the engineering students.

Speaking at a public meeting at Prodduturu in Kadapa district, Jagan said he initially wanted to take up the fast for one day but changed his decision. “It is necessary to take up a week long fast to teach a lesson to the government,” he said.

“The government will not learn any lessons with one day fast and a minimum of one week fast is required to ensure the Kirankumar reddy government will learn a lesson,” Jagan said criticizing the government. The government has become inactive on several public issues, Jagan said. “I have decided to take up the fast in support of the cause of the students.”

The government is not feeling ashamed even after Supreme Court reprimanded it on the issue of fee reimbursement, the former MP said, adding that the government has been gradually destroying the structure built up by the late chief minister YSR. “My fast will work as an eye-opener to the government,” he said.
