Hyderabad police registered cases against Telangana political JAC chairman Professor Kodanda Ram, TRS chief KCR, TRS MLA and son of KCR Mr K. Taraka rama rao (KTR) and Harish Rao, MLA and nephew of KCR holding them responsible for the desecration and destruction of the statues of most revered Telugu legendary figures on Tank Bund during the Million March of T elements on Thursday.
The cases were booked under several sections of IPC relating to vandalism, abetment to crime and attempt to murder.
DCP Sabharwal told journalists Friday evening that the police are investigating the cases related to the destruction of media vehicles and the equipment of journalists and attacks on media men.
“We have registered 16 cases and arrested 56 persons who included some TRS leaders and students,” Sabharwal said, adding that the police are also looking for some more people in this connection. “We have produced them before courts and sent them to judicial custody,” he said.
