Union Minister and in-charge of congress party affairs in the state Ghulam Nabi Azad, who had received several complaints against the chief minister Kirankumar reddy during his two day stay in Hyderabad, had reportedly ruled out the change of the chief minister.
“We will surely ensure a change in the working style of the chief minister but be assured there won’t be a change of the CM at this juncture,” Azad made it clear to several senior leaders of the party before he took the return flight to Delhi Tuesday evening.
Azad was also said to have told the opponents of the CM that the change of leadership in the state now would lead to more problems in the party. “It would also lead to comments that the congress leadership had affected the change of leadership because of the Jagan factor,” he reportedly told them.
Several leaders have also requested Azad to initiate immediate action against the party rebels who have been regularly defying the party instructions and siding with YSR Congress party leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy. “If there is no action against pro-Jagan MLAs, it also gives the impression that congress leadership is not taking action as it may lead to the toppling of the government by Jagan,” most of the senior leaders told Azad.
