CBI moving fast on Jagan’s properties

jaganCBI officials, based on the orders of the high court, are working day in and day out to collect information on the alleged illegal properties of YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan reddy and his money laundering activities.

The high court has directed the CBI to conduct a preliminary investigation into the allegations of accumulation of illegal wealth by Jagan during his father’s tenure as chief minister and submit a report in sealed cover with in two weeks.  The orders followed various petitions filed by the Minister Shankar rao and TDP leaders who said Jagan amassed huge wealth illegally during his father’s regime.

Mr VV Lakshminarayana, Joint Director of CBI, Hyderabad constituted a special team of officials for collecting the information and probing the issue. The special team has been working overtime as it was asked to submit the report with in two weeks.

The CBI team is collecting information from the Income Tax, Intelligence Bureau and Enforcement Directorate departments which have already prepared special reports some time ago.

The CBI officials are visiting various governmental departments and some private companies and meeting officials for collecting information to arrive at a conclusion whether a prima facie case exists for deeper probe into the allegations.

Jagan in dilemma on approaching SC

Meanwhile, sources said that Jagan is in a dilemma on approaching Supreme Court for getting a stay on the High Court order for a preliminary CBI inquiry. Jagan is unable to take a decision as the Supreme Court is very serious on black money, money laundering and corruption issues. YSR congress leaders feel the Supreme Court may not grant stay if its recent decisions on some of the important cases are any indication.

Caveat by Yerram Naidu

TDP leader Yerram Naidu filed a caveat in the Supreme Court on Friday requesting the court to inform him whenever Jagan or his supporters file petitions challenging the High Court order.
