TDP plans massive protests on 'power'

Telugu Desam Party is planning a massive protests over the recent power outages that people are suffering extensively. The TDP executive team met over the issue at the NTR Trust Bhavan in the morning and has already gone into the second session at 3 pm. The leaders have planned for a massive protest to bring attention of the government over the impending power crisis in the state.

Earlier TDP leader Ravula Chandrasekar Reddy asked the Congress government to issue a white paper on the issue. The leader also slammed the ruling party leaders of camping at the nation's capital neglecting the problems of the people in the state.

The executive committee of the party plans to organize a massive protest at the Southern Power Distribution Company of AP Limited (SPDCL) office in Hyderabad. The committee also announced the district wide protest dates. As per the schedule protests would be organized in Hyderabad on 29 August, in  Warangal on September 01, in Tirupati on 2nd  and in Vishakapatnam on 3rd. All the protests would be headed by the MLAs of the party of te adjacent areas.

Power outages have been a common across the state. While the cities are bearing the brunt of three hour power outage, the Corporations have 5 hours and towns have 6 hours power cuts. The worst are the villages which do not have power for nearly 12 hours from 6 am – 6pm. This the plan envisaged by the government to tide over the crisis.

The most worst hit are the industries that are to get power for three days in a week, with Sunday considered as holiday. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
