In a shocking incident, three were killed when a speeding truck hit them in Madinaguda on Monday.
According to the police, Krishna, 60, his sons Srinivas and Suresh and their relative Adinarayana came to the city nearly 10 days ago from East Godavari district. They were selling flower plants and pots and had set up a hut by the roadside in which they were staying. On Monday, at around 4 am, a speeding truck coming from Allwyn X Roads, rammed into the hut.
Miyapur inspector K. Ramesh said, “the truck ran over four persons who were asleep, went a few meters ahead and sank in the mud outside the hut”. Srinivas Rao, who was sleeping in the next hut woke up when he heard a huge noise. He then informed the police
Srinivas and Adinarayana were killed on the spot while Krishna succumbed to injuries after a couple of hours. Suresh has been admitted to the hospital He also suffered serious injuries. Police said that he is out of danger. The truck driver, Sheikh Pasha was detained for questioning. He confessed that he lost truck balance as brakes failed.
A case was registered for causing death through negligence and inflicting injuries. All the three bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem.
