How Cricket helped Satya to become CEO of Microsoft

Microsoft has named Satya Nadella as the new CEO of the $78 billion company on Tuesday. Satya is the third CEO of the tech giant after Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. He joined the company in the year 1992 and then on he never looked back. Satya was heading the Microsoft's Cloud and Enterprise group, responsible for building and computing platforms, developer tools and cloud services and so he is called the Cloud Guru of Microsoft.

However, Satya says Cricket helped him to build such strong leadership skills and he still loves watching Test cricket. After being named as the CEO of Microsoft, Satya said, “I think playing cricket taught me more about working in a team and leadership that has stayed within me through out my career. I love cricket! Its like reading a Russian novel.” The New CEO of Microsoft studied in Hyderabad Public School and represented the school cricket team in several tournaments.

Satya in his first mail to the employees of Microsoft warned that the industry is more focused on innovation rather than tradition. “There is hell lot more to do and we are up for the challenge. People who can't think more can never make life big,” said Satya.
