After the formation of special state Andhra Pradesh, the state’s finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu introduced the budget for 2017-18 in the new Assembly which has been constructed in the new capital Amaravathi. The total budget has been estimated to be Rs 1,56,199 crores. The deficit in the budget has been revealed to be Rs 23,054 crores. Here are the highlights of the budget:

- Rs 3300 Cr for the power subsidy for the poor people in the state.
- Rs 1773 Cr for Women and Children Welfare.
- Rs 5221 Cr for Security and Peace.
- Rs 3946 for Transport Department.
- Rs 90 Cr for the Disabled.
- Rs 240 Cr for Minority Wages.
- Rs 1525 Cr for Drinking Water and Sanitation.
- Rs 1665 Cr for the development of Industries.
- Rs 4216 Cr for Urban Development.
- Rs 7050 Cr for Health Department.
- Rs 5221 Cr for Home Ministry.
- Rs 20,385 Cr for Education Ministry.
- Rs 6574 Cr for Medical Department and Education.
