After TS, AP To Start Rs 5 Meal Annapurna Scheme Now:- A team of Municipal Commissioners from Andhra Pradesh are planning to commence the same service of Telangana Government’s Annapurna Rs 5 meal centres service in their State.
The team met GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy in Hyderabad on Tuesday to this effect. The Municipal Commissioners of Guntur, Palasa, Kurnool, Ongole and few other municipal bodies complimented the Telangana Government for the good service being extended through Annapurna centres.
During the meeting, Mr Reddy informed the team that every year GHMC spends about Rs.37 crore towards the subsidy offered for the Rs 5 meals, which are being provided in association with Hare Krishna Movement. Every day, over 37,000 people, including students, marketing executives and daily workers have lunch at the 150 Annapurna centres in the city.
In the coming days, The Telangana Government is planning to introduce the service in Warangal.
