Odisha Asks Centre To Stop Polavaram Project

Odisha Asks Centre To Stop Polavaram Project:- Andhra Pradesh Government has been taken things prestigiously about Polavaram project which is almost in final stages. Despite of Centre not funding the project, AP Government has been pooling the funds to complete Polavaram on time. The latest update is that the Odisha Government asked the Centre to stop Polavaram project. Andhra Pradesh appears not to have considered such an approach with respect to Odisha and Chhattisgarh on the Polavaram project.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, in a letter to Union Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Dr Harsh Vardhan requested immediate stoppage of Polavaram project. The letter says that the construction in the project will result in impounding water from Godavari river. This would have a massive impact on large number of tribal areas in Odisha informed the Chief Minister if a resolution is not made. With AP Government not responding much, Odisha government wanted the project to be given a break.
