India's First Coronavirus Vaccine Set For Human Trials:- The entire country is left in a stage of deep shock because of the rise in the number of coronavirus cases from the past few weeks. With the relaxations imposed, the spread is huge and the government of India is unable to get a control on them. Here comes good news about the first coronavirus vaccine that is made in India. Named as COVAXIN, the drug received approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) for phase one and two of cinical trials. The drug is developed by Bharat Biotech. The human clinical trials are expected to start in July this year.

The drug was developed through a collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology (NIV). The strain was isolated in NIV and is transferred to Bharat Biotech. A number of pharma giants and drug manufacturers are working on the vaccine but there are no satisfactory results yet. Bharat Biotech is leading the race. Some of the pharmaceutical companies developed a medicine to reduce the time spent in the hospital but the cure is yet to be found. As per the reports, ten million people are infected with coroanvirus across the globe and this deadly virus killed half a million people.

The drug is developed in Hyderabad. COVAXIN is an inactivated vaccine and the pre-clinical studies are said to be quite impressive. India is one of the leading manufacturer of several generic medicines and vaccines. India is expected to play a key role in developing a vaccine for coronavirus.
