Kerala Releases SOP For Treating Monkeypox Cases:- The Monkeypox turned out to be the new scare for the people of Kerala. There are two cases of monkeypox released but the situation is currently under control. Kerala health minister Veena George issued special guidelines for the people. The government issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) today for the treatment of the people who are infected with monkeypox. The major symptoms are said to be red spots on body, fever, body ache or headache. Veena George asked the people to be extra cautious and report immediately if there are any symptoms.

The risk of infection is higher in all those people who are in a close physical contact with the infected. The risk is also high among people who are in skin-to-skin contact with the infected person. If there is any sexual intercourse with the infected person, the risk of getting infected with monkeypox would be high. The government asked to take up PCR test if any symptoms are found. The Kerala government decided to treat the patients of monkeypox separately and in isolation. They will be monitored by the District Surveillance Officer (DSO). All the private hospitals are asked to refer the patients to the government hospitals as per the request of the patient.

All those who are critical and are being treated in a government hospital will be shifted to a medical college. Thermal scanners are arranged in all the international airports of the state. All those with fever and with red spots on the body should reach the nearest hospital. The state medical board has been asked to educate the people about the symptoms and treatment for monkeypox.
