Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chosen the village of Jayapur, about 30 kilometres from the ancient temple town of Varanasi for adoption. Modi visited his Parliamentary constituency Varanasi for the first time after winning the May elections with huge margin.
PM Modi addressed a huge publice meeting in Jayapur and said, “Jayapur is adopting me, not the other way around.” Mr Modi wants all law-makers to adopt one village each from their constituencies as "a model village" by 2016, and add another two by 2019. He will be spending a night at guest house while the police have made heavy arrangements for Modi's secuirty.
