Millet Journey With Browntop Millet Porridge:- 40% of the men are bald because of stress and several women face pre-menopausal issues soon after they near the age of 40. Hairfall is quite natural these days. Understanding millets and making them keeps you healthy. Though most of them are not health conscious before the 40s, they are finding ways to turn healthy after leading a stressful life. Most of them are suffering with diabetes, blood pressure, migraine, joint pains and many common diseases. Realization comes with fear and millets are for everyone. If you bring the meal soon into your menu, you will get a chance to witness positive changes. A simple browntop millet porridge is easy to be made and keeps you healthy.

Ingredients:

Half cup browntop millet and it should be soaked overnight.

Half cup moong dal and it should be soaked overnight.

One finely chopped onion.

One finely chopped tomato.

Half cup steamed pumpkin.

Half cup chopped beans.

1 teaspoon of jeera.

¼ teaspoon methi seeds.

¼ teaspoon asafoetida.

½ teaspoon red chili powder.

½ teaspoon turmeric powder.

1 teaspoon cow ghee.

3 cups water.

Rock salt.

Measure the millet and lentil. Wash it and soak them separately for eight hours. Please add cow ghee in a deep pan and allow it to heat up. Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds. Add the chopped onion after a while. Please saute till they turn soft. Then add the chopped tomatoes, pumpkin chunks, cluster beans, rock salt and turmeric. Cook them until they turn soft.

Add the washed browntop millet and moong dal. Add the red chili powder and continue to saute for 2-3 minutes. Add 3 cups of water and cover the lid on a low flame. Leave it for 12-15 minutes. Turn the flame off and allow it for 30 minutes. Give it a stir once after 30 minutes. You can add more ghee and salt on the top. You can add chutney, pickle or any others as per your taste.

Browntop millets come with high nutritional value and they are rich in calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium and fiber. It detoxifies the body and helps to control blood pressure.
