BSNL is all geared to launch its own tab bundled with user friendly 3G schemes following its predecessor Reliance (RCom), which launched its 3G tab.
The largest telecom PSU BSNL is all set to a head on war with the Akash Tablets launched by the central government in association with Datawind. The Akash tab seems to have run into problems after its initial hype, due to non-delivery on schedule. But as of now BSNL has launched three tabs bundled with its unique 3G plans, in association with Pantel Technologies, an ICT devices hardware company head quartered in Noida.
And one of its variant will directly hit the hyped desi tab. The price is a little higher than Akash, but technical features are also slightly improvised than the later. Penta TPAD IS7O1R the direct warring soldier of BSNL just costs Rs. 3,499. All the three tabs by the PSU scout a one year warranty. · The Penta TPAD IS7O1R features a 7" resistive touchscreen, 1 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM, upto 32GB storage via memory card, WiFi, 3G dongle support & a front camera. It's priced to compete with the Aakash tablet at Rs 3,499.
· The Penta TPAD WS704C sports a 7" capacitive touchscreen, 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, upto 32GB storage via memory card (4 GB built-in), WiFi, 3G dongle support & front as well as rear cameras. It also comes with a SIM card slot and is priced at Rs. 9,917.
· The Penta TPAD WS802C has a 8" capacitive touchscreen, 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, upto 32GB storage via memory card (4 GB built-in), WiFi, 3G dongle support & front as well as rear cameras. It, too, features a SIM card slot and is priced at Rs. 12,678.
The PSU plans to recover the subsidy given to the buyers through the data huge usage by them. Good initiative from the government to provide advanced hardware at affordable prices.
