For positive dreams sleep in chaos

One thing that drove me crazy was of course the fact is that sleeping amidst chaotic sounds give one  a positive dreams. Ridiculous but true as per researchers. Car horns and commuters sounds release wonderful dreams of accomplishement say sources. It is a general belief that for a sound sleep we need a peaceful location. But as per the recent experiments, Daily Mail reported, was carried out with a smartphone application that played different sounds as individuals went into the last period of rapid eye movement sleep or REM-when we dream.

As per the study conducted on over 8,000 individuals, various sounds were tested on the sleeping individuals. They did not know wheteher a bird sound was tested or a coarse horn was blown as they were in sound sleep when the test was carried on. Based on the resutls the people who were treated with coarse sounds related good or positive dreams unlike their counter parts who were treated with soft melodies.

"When we counted the positive and negative words people used to describe their dreams, we would have expected the birdsong and streams and so on, to improve people's dreams," University of Hertfordshire psychologist Professor Richard Wiseman said.

"But what we saw was a lot more negativity. It was very realistic and people seemed unnerved by having birds in their room. Whereas perhaps the city scape was more familiar and comforting," he added. The research would help people with depression or sleep disorders feels the Professor. "We want to people maximise their ability to wake up in a good mood, which has a big psychological effect. Depression is often associated with bad dreams," he said. (With inputs from internet-AarKay)
