If you haven't heard of Conquest earlier, then you have no idea of what an armored SUV loos like. The toronto-based auto manufacturer, with armored SUVs as their specialization has announced its first unarmored SUV. However, the deceptive looks might trick you into thinking that this is no less than any armored vehicles with its sturdy build. The interior is quite the opposite of the interior with plush seats and a Limousine like spacious seating with only 2 leather seats in the rear.
With the design inspired from the manufacturer's own Knight XV armored utility vehicle with slight changes in the designs on the exterior. The changes in the design would next be transferred to the upcoming newer Conquest Knight XV. These changes include the wrapping headlights and tail lights, the fender flares which have been made slimmer, hood scoop, a wider rear door and a completely redesigned grille. The hinges, running boards and steering wheel were forged from stainless steel.
The engine that would be incorporated into this mean beast were not revealed but since the company had mentioned the availability of the vehicle in the diesel and petrol variants, it can be speculated that it will sport the same Ford 6.8-liter gas V-10 and Ford 6.7-liter V-8 turbo diesel housed in the Ford F550 Super Duty chassis as in the Knight XV. No doubts about the vehicle being an AWD though. Air ride suspension, front and rear FLIR night vision cameras, and roof-mounted, joystick-controlled searchlights with 360 degrees of motion were all confirmed to be incorporated.
The rugged outer look begs to differ from the sassy, romantic extremely luxurious interior. 400 cubic feet (11 cubic meters) of space is laid out in 2 + 2 limousine style and made out of leather Alcantara and other composites only. Executive-style reclining seats, a retractable flat screen TV and a driver partition are the other additions you can opt.
Though largely luxurious you would never feel like you are in a Bentley SUV as the military-style trademark can also be noted inside not at the cost of the comfort.
The Evade will retail for US$579,000 after the productions which begin this fall.
