Apple to announce smaller iPad in October

All Things Digital on Sunday had reported that the smaller version of iPad would be released by Apple in October following the release of its latest flagship mobile iPhone 5 in September; the prebookings for which would start on September 12.

In the exact words from the website, "First comes the latest iteration of the tech giant's hugely popular smartphone, which will be unveiled at an as yet unannounced event on September 12. Only after the next-generation iPhone is out the door and on sale will Apple announce the smaller iPad it's been working on" as it referred to Apple, iPhone and the latest and smaller version of the highly anticipated iPad.

It has been known that the device would sport a screen slightly less than 8 inches in size and would be revealed in another unveileing event to be held in October.

AS for as now, the iPad, be it any generation, had been the number one tablet sold all around the world but the shares steadily started declining with the advent of the Amazon's Kindle Fire, Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy series of tabs. Since the latter were all winning with the 7 inch form factor, iPad decided to gain back the lost shares with its latest mini version of the ipad, against the wishes of the co-founder Steve Jobs.
