Material that absorbs Green House gases discovered

Sea has been the widely known sink for Carbon di Oxide and its likes that form the Green House Gases which keep the surface of the earth warm, but in excess could precipitate global warming, melting of ice caps and several other calamities. A recent research had given birth to a new porous material, code named the NOTT-300 which is capable of significantly lowering the emissions from fossil fuels like CO2 and Sulphur Di Oxide SO2.

In the Scientific Jounal of Nature Chemistry, NOTT -300 has been described in detail mentioning that it could be an extremely effective alternative for the CO2 and SO2 sinks. This is also an economical solution compared to the ones that are being utilized today.

The new material represents a major step towards addressing the challenges of developing a low carbon economy, which seeks to produce energy using low carbon sources and methods.

It has long been established that man has messed up with the nature and the levels of CO2 are the footprints of his activity which also have a negative effect on the climate of the earth. It is essential that these changes are undone now.

NOTT-300 is capable of absorbing CO2 and SO2. Never before has a material been developed that could absorb SO2 to this levels. NOTT-300 is also valued for its selective absorptive capacities while leaving gases like hydrogen, methane, nitrogen, oxygen alone – showing no or very little adsorption into the pores.
