Earth's moon much younger than imagined

In a surprising discovery, a new study revealed that Earth's moon had been created 100 million years later than imagined. It was said that the moon is a product of Earth's debris when an unknown planet hit earth some 4.360 billion years ago.

The study refutes this timeline, saying that the moon is actually 100 million years younger than we thought, marking its formation at 4.4 billion to 4.45 billion years old. This also means that the mysterious collision that separated moon from Earth's mass also happened much later than recorded. Hence, the moon happens to be younger by100 million years.

Imagine waking up and realizing that you're actually younger than what people thought. If our moon was into vanity, it would surely celebrate. It is believed that as soon as the moon was created, it had a surface of molten rock that slowly coagulated into a hard mass. Implications of this discovery on our basic knowledge of Earth are yet to be understood.
