As per the report of the Internet and Mobile Association of India, India that has already crossed 200 million users of Internet by October is expected to reach 243 million users by June 2014 whereas internet users in USA are estimated as 207 million in number.  At present USA is in second position in the use of internet as China is in the top with 300 million users.

The study also says that all 205 internet users are not active users but the tendency shows that they are going to become active in the coming period.

These figures seem to be correct as Face Book says that India has 82 million active users of Face Book by June 2013 standing next to USA and Canada. China is not in the list of Face Book as Face Book does not operate in China.

Internet usage has gone up due to access through phones as the cheaper phones are also offering net usage. Internet users through phone are 110 million in number out of which 25 million is from rural areas.

Out of Internet users, college students are higher in number than other youth.
