Hike acquires Zip Phone

Instant chat application, Hike Messenger has announced that it has obtained US based voice calling company, Zip Phone, without revealing the amount. Over the past few days, the market sources are saying that Hike is looking to launch voice calling from the application and accordingly the company has acquired Zip Phone. In fact this is Hike's first ever acquisition, since its launch in December 2012.

Hike released a statement post acquiring Zip Phone which read that, “we can't wait to launch this.” Zip Phone is founded by Anuj Jain in US, an international voice calling application. Despite having heavy competition in the instant messaging segment, Hike has about 35 million users. Most of the Hike users are under 25 years in India and it managed to get a decent popularity.

Hike is available in Android, Windows, BlackBerry and iOS devices for free.
