Ignoring the Indian request to let the Sri Lankan cricket players play for the ongoing matches of the IPL season-4 at least till May 15, the Sri Lankan Cricket and the Sri Lankan government have adamantly stuck to their stand of asking its players to return to Colombo by May5.
The Lankan authorities have earlier decided to call them back by May 5 to prepare for the forth coming England tour but the BCCI authorities spoke to the Lankan officials and requested them to let players, presently playing in India on behalf of various IPL franchises, continue playing till at least May 15.
The Lankans are however determined to ignore the request of Indian authorities and have reaffirmed their decision to call their player s back. As per the decision, 11 Sri Lankans including the star players Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardena and Tillakaratne Dilshan will have to leave for Colombo by May 5 midway through the season.
