Kapil Dev says, Tendulkar's records are not permanent

Haryana hurricane Kapil Dev has opined that the 100-century record by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar would not be a permanent one as someone or the other would break it in near future. Nonetheless, the former skipper hailed the dedication of Sachin Tendulkar towards cricket. Kapil Dev said two young cricketers-Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli-were talk of the town when he was on the verge of retirement. Kapil who said both Tendulkar and Kambli were talented, stressed that Sachin's dedication took him to peak.

The ace cricketer, under whose captaincy Team India lifted its first world cup, said records were meant to be broken. He said the game of cricket was bigger than any player and cited Sunil Gavaskar. Cricketers then used to think none would be able to break the record of Sunil Gavaskar and said they were wrong as Team India witnessed greater players than Gavarkar, he added.
