Big blow for India

One of the oldest Olympic sports, wrestling, would soon be history as the International Olympic Committee has announced that the sport will not be included in Olympics starting from 2020.

Wrestling fraternities of the world have all been shocked by this sudden decision which was also called undemocratic by several parties. There were no reasons quoted. The sport of wrestling was among the earliest games played in as many as 180 countries since ancient Olympics.
India, which has just discovered its new rising talents in the sport like Sushil Kumar would receive the biggest blow. Sushil Kumar’s coach was targeting over 10 medals for the 2020 games. Satpal Singh, his coach and former Olympian, however, has not lost all hope since many nations would fight to prevent this from happening along with India.

Field hockey and taekwondo were two other sports which barely managed to survive the executive board’s decisions.
