In a good news to all the Indian athletes, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has lifted the ban on the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). The ban lift decision came after the IOA elections were held on Sunday and the IOC is completely satisfied by the way the elections were arranged as per the guidelines of IOC. The three athletes who are participating in Sochi Olympics will now hold the tri-color in the closing ceremony.
N Ramachandran, younger brother of BCCI president N Srinivasan was elected as the new president of IOA on Sunday and given the track record of Ramachandran, IOC is hopeful for better administration in IOA. On December 4th 2012, IOC banned IOA for adhering to the government's Sports Code and for allowing tainted persons to take part in the election process.
