Dhawan, Rahane slam tons

Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane scored centuries and lifted India to a super victory in the first ODI against Sri Lanka at Kochi. Not all this, Dhawan and Rahane put on a double century partnership and in the end, Suresh Raina scored a quick 54 making sure India to post a huge total in the scoreboard. The hosts put up 363 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets.

Chasing the total, Sri Lankan batsmen never looked in the game. Not even a single batsmen scored a half century and former captain Jayawardene was the top scorer with 43 runs. Captain Angelo Mathews  also failed in this. Ishant Sharma who made a comeback to the ODIs, took four wickets and broke the Sri Lankan middle order while rest of the Indian bowler restrict the visitors and in the end won by 169 runs.

Rahane was awarded 'Man of the Match' award.
