BJP says MPs resignation news is falsified

The Parliament had witnessed a clamorous debate after the BJP leaders and Congress confronted each other on Thursday. BJP leaders of the Parliament are set to meet in L K Advani's chamber while mulling over their next moves in the coal block allocation scam and the 2G scam which was being dealt by the JPC. It had clarified that no MP was resigning and the news that the media received was fake.

"Reports of BJP MP's resigning from the Lok Sabha are concocted, baseless and hypothetical. The BJP has not even decided on whether to continue or to quit the JPC on 2G," BJP sources said.

After yesterday's walkout there have been reports that the members of the party would resign from the Parliament panels unless Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram take an oath before the JPC. Pressurizing the government BJP president Nitin Gadkari had seconded the proposal that they would resign the parliament panel.

With sporadic and constantly disturbed sessions in the Parliament, government had already squandered  3 crore. One single session per day incurred by the Parliament would cost around Rs 1.7 crores.

After being coerced by the Opposition, PM Manmohan Singh had said that he was ready to contend the allegations of the coal block allocation scams and defend himself. He on behalf on Congress said that BJP has feared debate on the issue, BJP stays stubborn on its decision that the Parliament sessions would not begin until the PM offers his resignation.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office said, "PM will reply to BJP on coal allocation issue. PM will participate in the debate. PM will answer all the points raised by BJP. But why BJP is shying away because their chief ministers didn't want coal allocation by auction mode".

Nitin Gandkari said, "Parliament will not function till the PM resigns. It’s wrong to say the NDA is not united. We are all for PM’s resignation. The only way out could be someone from UPA to talk to us. We won't attend the Joint Parliamentary Committee till PM is not summoned. "Why should we attend if we won't be heard?" he questioned.
