Students of the Seema Andhra region today held out rallies in several towns across the area opposing division of the state.
Rallies and human chains opposing the division were conducted in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kadapa and Anantapur by thousands of students. The supporters of united AP raised slogans and criticised the Telangana leaders.
Lawyers in Visakhapatnam boycotted courts and held out rallies along with students demanding that public representatives of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions resign to put pressure on the central government to keep the state united.
Meanwhile, Minister of Seema Andhra region Mr. E. Pratap Reddy told journalists in Hyderabad that he would request the centre to keep the state united but made it clear he would abide by the decision of the Centre.
JAC discusses joint agitation
Telangana political JAC convener M. Kodandaram today held talks with senior congress leader K. Keshava Rao and Telangana Praja Front leader and balladeer Gaddar on launching a joint agitation for achieving Telangana.
