Centre In Plans To Set Up Ethanol Plants Says Nitin Gadkari:- The Centre has been facing the heat from the people after the prices of petrol and diesel reached all time high. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed that the Centre has been in plans to set up five ethanol making plants in the country and this ethanol would be produced from waste materials. Ethanol would be made from municipal wastes and wood products after which petrol would be made available for Rs 55 per litre and diesel would be available for Rs 50 per litre.

"Five ethanol making plants are being set up in the country. Once these are done, petrol and diesel will be available for less costs. The Union petroleum ministry is busy with the work and paddy straw, wheat straw, sugarcane, bamboo will be used for this production. Rs 8 lakh crore worth petrol and diesel are imported to the country. Alternate fuels like ethanol, bio diesel, CNG and methanol can be used" said Gadkari during his speect at Charoda in Chattisgarh.
