Chandra Babu Writes To Centre On Polavaram Project:- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu wrote to Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari asking them to reimburse Rs 3722.04 crores that have been spent by the state for Polavaram project. Babu reminded that the project was declared as a National Project and the expenditure was said to be Rs 10,459.30 crores. Out of the amount, Rs 6727.26 crores have been reimbursed and the rest of the amount has been pending. Babu even wrote that the last reimbursement that the state received was on June 11th 2018.
Chandra Babu said that the state was not in a mood to delay the project and hence they spent the expenditure. "The State Government with great difficulty managed to provide the funds for Polavaram project. This is having an impact on the other projects and programs in the state. Any further dealy in releasing the pending funds would adversely affectt the progress of works. Hence we demand to release the funds under Section 90 of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 through which Polavaram has been declared as a national project" wrote Chandra Babu.
