Heavy Rain Lashes Hyderabad:- A sudden and surprising rain lashed the Telangana capital, Hyderabad and its neighbouring regions during the early hours of today. The people were relieved with the rain after the heatwave has been leaving them struggling. There was a huge waterlogging in the parts of Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Seetharampura and Begumpet. The people of the capital woke up to relief from the scorching heat. The officials of the GHMC are working hard to clear the waterlogged regions in the morning after the rainfall ended. The temperatures in the city came down significantly and some of the regions witnessed power cuts because of the harsh wind along with the rain.
Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), Seethafalmandi near Secunderabad reported 72.8 mm of rainfall till morning. Bansilalpet and West Marredpally reported 67 mm and 61.8 mm respectively. The highest rainfall reported in state was in Habshipur of 108 mm. Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) are in action to clear the water stagnation. There were tree falls in several regions of the city. India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad told that the city will receive rainfall on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
