INX Media Case: Karti Chidambaram Sent To One-Day CBI Custody:- Former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at Chennai airport during Wednesday morning in connection with INX Media case. The 46-year-old businessman has been taken into custody after he returned from United Kingdom and he has been produced before a special court in New Delhi. The court ordered one day CBI custody for Karti Chidambaram. CBI sought 15-day remand to interrogate Karti Chidambaram.

Karti Chidambaram was not much co-operative with the investigation and he has been travelling abroad frequently informed CBI court. The government has been keen on investigating Karti Chidambaram and CBI lodged a FIR on May 15th last year. When Chidambaram was the Finance minister, Foreign Investment Promotion Board’s (FIPB’s) cleared to INX Media for receiving overseas funds to the tune of Rs 3 billion in 2007. CBI revealed that Karti received Rs 1 million for cracking the deal.
