Election Commission Clarifies About Discussing Poll Dates With KCR:- Telangana Chief Minister KCR who dissolved the Assembly state went ahead saying that he took the step after he discussed all the happenings with the Chief Election Commissioner. He even said that the elections would take place in November and the results would be out during December. This did not go well with many and Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat has been criticized by the opposition parties of Telangana. Rawat stepped out now to control the damage and he denied that he hasn't had a word with KCR about the election polls.
"KCR did not speak with me. It is quite unfortunate for a Chief Minister to speak like this. The Assembly election schedule will be decided by the Election Commission which is collective. It has nothing to do with astrology. The State Chief Electoral Office would conduct a survey and submit a report to us after which the final call on the election dates would be taken. No one except the Election Commission can speak about the dates. We are in plans to conduct elections in Telangana at the earliest as we are not in a mood for the caretaker government to take decisions" said OP Rawat during his press interaction.
