TTD News: VIP Darshan Abolished from Today:- The practice of VIP darshan in Tirumala temple turned out to be a hurdle for general devotees. This privileged access reached all-time high and the new Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman YV Subba Reddy abolished the practice from today. The new system will be introduced soon. YV Subba Reddy spoke to the media after the move saying that it was a collective decision taken. The L1, L2 and L3 system are abolished said YV Subba Reddy.
"Everyone is equal before got. We wish to help the regular devotees who stand in long queues and at the same time we do not wish to hurt the feelings of the senior dignitaries" said YV Subba Reddy. The VIP darshan gave entry without long queues. L1 was for VVIPs, judges, ministers, MLAs and higher cadre officials in government organizations. L2 was for TTD employees, their families and other government officials. L3 was available for VIPs through recommendation letters from MPs, MLAs and other officials.
YV Subba Reddy said that there would be a provision for dignitaries and this process would be announced soon. The former minister and TTD chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav supported the decision calling it a welcome move.
