22 Lakh New Kisan Credit Cards To Be Issued Says Nirmala Sitharaman:- Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made it clear during her speech today that the country may have one more lockdown and the Centre is working hard to bring things back to the control. Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the government of India will issue 22 lakh new Kisan credit cards. The interest subvention of all the existing loans are extended till May 31st. Rs 86,600 crore loans for 63 lakh people are approved in the field of agriculture between March 1st and April 30th this year. Rs 11,000 crores is used by the Centre to set up a shelter for the migrants and provide them with food.
Three crore masks are made by 12,000 self-help groups during this coronavirus season said Nirmala Sitharaman. The government also asked the states to use State Disaster Response Funds (SDRF) to set up the shelter for the migrants and provide them with food, water. Eight crore migrants will get free food grains for the next two months. 5kg of rice and 1 kg chana will be offered for every non-ration cardholders. The Centre is spending Rs 3500 crores for the migrants and their food.
The ration will be given in any part of the country. 63 crore beneficiaries will be covered by August. A rental housing scheme will be launched under PM Awas Yojana which will offer affordable rental spaces for the poor. Rs 5000 crores is allocated for the 50 lakh street vendors and they would be given special credit facility. The initial working capital for them would be Rs 10,000.
Rs 30,000 crores will be released through NABARD for Rabi-related work and preparation for the Karif crops. Fishermen and animal husbandry workers too will be included in the Kisan Credit Car that would benefit 2.5 crore farmers.
