The Union Home Ministry has sanctioned Z-category security to yoga guru Ramdev and this decision was taken after the Intelligence Bureau submitted a report citing a threat to his life outside his home state. So now Ramdev would be secured by a team of 20-22 CRPF personnel when he is travelling across the country.

Ramdev was already provided Z-category security by the Uttarakhand Police. Also the Home Ministry will pull out of VIP security to Congress leaders who were provided the same by the UPA government. Jitin Prasad, Sachin Pilot, Rita Bahuguna Joshi and former union minister Beni Prasad Verma are likely to lose their security cover.
