Zimbabwe avoided a defeat in their second match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. In the battle with debutants, United Arab Emirates [UAE], Zimbabwe got a tougher challenge as the former team posted a huge total batting first. All the UAE batsmen scored decent amount of runs but Khurram Khan and Shaiman Anwar made the valuable contribution to the team. Anwar completed a half century and remained as the top scorer for the side. UAE posted 285 runs for the loss of six wickets.
In reply Zimbabwe made a good start. Openers Sikandar Raza and Chakabva put a 50 run stand for the first wicket which helped the middle order batsmen to take over the responsibility. Sean Williams, captain Brendan Taylor and Craig Ervine played a crucial role in Zimbabwe innings. Williams completed half century and remained unbeaten.
