Tim Southee rips England

New Zealand's Tim Southee deadly spell has rammed into the England batting side and captain Brendon McCullum did the rest. England have won the toss and elected to bat first against the co-hosts. The English side started slow and in the first ten over, both the openers Bell and Ali were removed by Southee. But the destruction started in the 26th over. Southee took wicket in every over of his second spell and claimed seven wickets in the end. These are the best figures for any New Zealand's bowler in the World Cup history. England were bowled out for 123 runs.

To the short total, McCullum provide ample of entertainment by thrashing the England bowlers all over the ground. In just 25 deliveries he made 77 with eight 4s and seven 6s. It was Chris Woakes who stopped the McCullum and took two wickets which are a normal relief. New Zealand chased the total in 12.2 overs and posted their biggest win against England. Tim Southee was awarded Man of the Match.
