Indian consumers fantasize about owning an iPhone. The Apple Inc logo on the rear of the phone is a great style statement apart from a matter of pride for the "mango men" in the nation. For those who have saved penny by penny to be invested in a stylish phone packed with features at a budget of Rs 20,000 iPhone 4 might look like a bumper offer but that is an illusion which will leave you utterly disappointed.

With attractive deals like 0% EMI, discounts, exchange schemes etc, Apple is merely trying to shove the mediocre phones into the faces of the consumers at premium prices. Rs 23,000 for an iPhone 4 is a huge amount that is going into the mud. The phone has fewer features than today's Android phones in the price range. Iphone 4 has features that will not be appreciated today. Updates to the phone will be cut off very soon and apps will be designed to go with the latest iPhone 4 as the older versions will be forgotten very soon.

Iphone 5 is an antique phone, though worthless now,  in this age of technology since three years have passed after the phone was released. No retina screen is another deal breaker. Invest in other operating systems, and you will get premium quad-core phones for a few more bucks.
