After launching in 2001, Microsoft will officially end the operation system Windows XP and no longer the tech giant will issue any official security updates and bug fixes for the operating system. Initially Microsoft named XP as Neptune and later in February 2001, it renamed it as Windows XP.
Today around 95 percent of ATM system use Windows XP and now pose a threat. As Microsoft will no longer release security patches, use of XP will expose to cyber attacks.
The sales of Windows XP has dropped by 25 percent last year and so Microsoft took the decision to end it. Also the company is offering USD 100 off to the customers who want to buy a Windows 8 in exchange with XP. However this offer is valid for only two months and that too in the United States.
