NASA releases the dunes speckle pictures of Mars:- The images of dunes speckling on the surface of the Mars are now trending all over. The gorgeous picture was clicked by NASA's Odyssey orbiter that is released on April 8th and it revealed that Mars has extreme and varying temperatures on the planet in a sea of dunes. All the pictures are taken from the northern polar cap of Mars which are shown as long and weaving lines by the wind. Mars does not have any blue patches and the blue regions in the pictures revealed that they are colder regions and the yellowish-orange color indicates that the regions are warmer, told the officials of NASA. The image is shot for an area of 19 miles which is equal to 30 kms wide.
The pictures also have clearly shown that there are sand dunes in various locations of the Mars. Some of the dunes are spotted in frost that comes as per the season. The new image of Mars was released on April 8th and they comprised the pictures from December 2002 to November 2004. The images are released on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Odyssey that was launched on April 7th, 2001. They began observing Mars from the past two decades. The study on Mars continues till now and the Mars Odyssey orbiter holds a record for the longest active spacecraft that is orbiting around any planet.
